This project involved defining a magazine concept and preparing a visual identity and an editorial design based on the concept, which then was visualized in ready-made magazine pages adapted to an underlying structure in the form of grids and page templates.
Concept
My experience of the music industry is that there are often a lot of coincidences around who succeeds and who doesn't. Much depends on circumstances and access, which not everyone has. I, therefore, want to give those who have not been given the same opportunities a chance to show themselves and prove that they can deliver good quality music on an equal footing with the biggest artists.
This is a niche magazine that covers Norwegian unestablished artists. It gives a voice to those who don't get, or have not yet received, the attention they deserve in the Norwegian music industry, and the magazine functions as a platform where they can share their music and history, which hopefully will lift them into the spotlight.
